What we collect, and what we do with it
This describes how SmallShop handles personal information under the Australian Privacy Principles. It reflects what the site actually does today.
What we collect
The call request form. Your name, email address, and optionally your company or project name, along with the answers you give about what stage you're at, your budget range, what you're trying to build or fix, and when suits you to talk.
The code check form. Your name, email address, the link you send us to your repository or live app or the zip file you upload, and any note you add with it. An uploaded zip is attached to the email it arrives in — it isn't saved anywhere else, and it doesn't pass through any third party other than the mail provider that delivers it.
The readiness quiz. Nothing reaches us. Your answers and the name and email you enter stay in your browser and are used to work out your result on screen — we never receive them unless you then choose to send the call request form, which is when they get filled in for you.
We don't use analytics or advertising trackers, and we don't set cookies for anything other than making the site work.
Why we collect it
Solely to reply to you and to prepare for the call. We don't add you to a mailing list, and we don't sell, rent or share your details with anyone for marketing.
Where it goes and how long we keep it
Both forms are sent to us by email and are not written to a database. That means the record of your enquiry lives in our email account for as long as the conversation is useful. Ask us to delete it and we will. If you send us a link or a zip of your code for a free check, we read it, use it only to do the check and the work you asked for, and delete our copy when we're done.
Access, correction and complaints
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing hello@smallshop.au. If you're not satisfied with how we've handled it, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
