Questions about how a rescue runs
Will you rewrite my app from scratch?
Almost never. Untidy code — duplicated logic, odd naming, components doing three things — is a maintenance cost, not a risk to your customers, so we leave it alone and fix what's actually broken or unsafe. If a rewrite genuinely turns out to be the right call, we'll say so and quote it separately before touching anything.
What counts as the 'small, contained' job that starts at $350?
One clear problem in an app that's otherwise sound — exposed keys, open database rules, a missing sign-in check. Most rescues touch more than one of those at once, which is why a typical job lands between $700 and $1,200; the $350 end is for a single fix with nothing else wrong underneath it.
What if you find something bigger once you're in the code?
We stop and tell you before doing anything about it. The price we agreed covers what we scoped on the call — if the app turns out to need more, that's a separate conversation and a separate quote, not an addition to this bill.
Do I lose access to my own app while you're working on it?
No — you stay the owner throughout. We work as a collaborator with scoped access, the app can usually stay live the whole time, and access is revoked the moment the job's handed back.
